The city’s favourite roaming drinks adventure is back to wrap up summer.

Rails & Ales returns to Ōtautahi this March, combining craft drinks, great bars, and a relaxed afternoon exploring the city at your own pace. Hop between five carefully chosen venues, catch up with friends, and let the trams do the heavy lifting as they loop through the city.

Two heritage trams will be running all afternoon — one with a live acoustic set on board, the other with a DJ — adding a bit of atmosphere between stops without rushing the day. You choose your starting venue and drink type when you book, then move freely between venues as the afternoon unfolds.

Beer tickets include six drinks (served as half pints, bottles, or glasses depending on the venue), while wine and cocktail tickets include three drinks at selected bars. Finish things off with an afterparty at DUX, or call it early — it’s your afternoon, your way.
